    The Associate, Digital Activation has the primary day-to-day responsibility for assigned accounts and is expected to be familiar with all account details as they pertain to buying and implementation activities. A minimum of one year experience preferred; working within an Activation team to accomplish the effective delivery of buy recommendations and negotiations in digital media for assigned clients. The Associate provides input to the buying direction as well as development and execution of buying recommendations under the direction of the Digital Activation Supervisor, and Integrated Planning Supervisor.


    The Associate, Digital Activation is the steward of the entire buying and implementation process of Digital and works very closely with the Integrated Planning team, Digital Ad Operations and Digital Analytics teams.




    Media Activation and Execution:

    ·         Collaborates with the Integrated Planning team to provide input into partner selection and rationale

    ·         Assess vendor proposals with Integrated Planning team

    ·         Assist in developing buying strategies for maximizing media dollars, and handling media                                        negotiations

    ·         Key negotiator working with vendors to ensure smart investments are made on behalf of client

    ·         Works with Integrated Planning team to maintain media budgets and changes to media plan post                            negotiations

    ·         Work in conjunction with AMP on billing and invoicing to maintain consistent process

    ·         Keep abreast of all invoices, billing and delivery issues; know when to escalate                                                      discrepancies to supervisors

    ·         Works with creative agency to understand creative assets available and any custom placements

    ·         Understands intricacies of various tracking services

    ·         Works with Digital Ad Operations to ensure flawless implementation

    ·         Works with Assistant Planner and/or Data Analyst to analyze tracking results and write detailed summaries              of end of campaign results

    ·         Understands available rich media capabilities

    ·         Understands general activation capabilities of all available digital media tactics


    Client & Internal Relationships:

    ·         Manage day-to-day client interaction as far as buy details are concerned (rates/costs, deadlines for asset                delivery, launch timeline etc)

    ·         Manage expectations of clients, Integrated Planning team and deliverables

    ·         Works closely with the client and Planning team throughout activation part of the program to maintain                    performance and resolve any performance issues

    ·         Keeps up with the latest trends in media

    ·         Informs client/Planning team of new opportunities or issues

    ·         Participates in face to face client and vendor meetings

    ·         Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for assistant level


    Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

    ·         Works with management team (Supervisor/AMD/Media Director) to develop strategies for digital buys

    ·         Strategizes ways to most effectively use digital media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients

    ·         Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner

    ·         Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate

    ·         Provide guidance to team members to nurture/promote team environment

    ·         Assist in the training of junior team members

    ·         May be responsible for working with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff-manage time, assure                projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budget

    ·         May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management              documents

    ·         Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them


    Communications Skills:

    ·         Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications

    ·         Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner

    ·         Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially

    ·         Assists in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs

    ·         Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive

    ·         Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in                    account status, etc.



    ·         Bachelor’s Degree

    ·         1+ year of media planning/buying experience, including at least one year focused on online

    ·         Participation in at least one full planning cycle and development/implementation of at least two media plans

    ·         Thorough understanding of the media process, media department and inter-department relationships

    ·         Strong negotiator

    ·         Proficient with numbers and budgets

    ·         Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered solutions

    ·         Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt buys due to changes in client                            objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum

    ·         Strong analytical skills, ability to relate results to client business objectives

    ·         Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively

    ·         Experience using DoubleClick Dart and AtlasDMT adserving technologies

    ·         Familiarity with offline media concepts

    ·         Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
