    The Supervisor, Digital Activation is a base-level management position. This position is accountable for all aspects of the buying, negotiation, implementation and tracking of the assigned client’s digital campaigns. The Supervisor partners with the Associate Director and Director of the Integrated Planning team to set the tone for the assigned accounts. The Supervisor, Digital Activation oversees the entire buying and implementation process of Digital and works very closely with the Integrated Planning team, Digital Ad Operations and Digital Analytics teams.  The Supervisor assists in the creation of all important buy presentations and post campaign reports. They are expected to have a strong working knowledge of the overall media space, but be experts in Digital. The Supervisor is responsible for managing an Activation team – developing their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth. In addition to their core account assignments, the Supervisor, Digital Activation is expected to take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding with new business pitches, committees and task forces. This role is a step toward greater leadership within the media group and the agency overall.





    Media Activation and Execution:

    • Participate in and lead digital media activations
    • Work with senior team members to set digital activation and negotiation strategies
    • Oversee plan negotiations with vendors
    • Act as final resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies
    • Act as the internal point person with the Integrated Planning team, Digital Ad Operations and Digital Analytics teams
    • Ensure constant communication between Carat and various other creative agencies and ensure activation processes align with other teams/brands
    • Work with Digital Ad Operations team to develop and maintain timelines for all activation projects
    • Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects
    • Serve as a resource for Associates and Assistants for advice, counsel and mentorship


    Client & Internal Relationships:

    • Maintain client relationships at appropriate levels for all buy/activation details
    • Understand the client’s needs
    • Manage expectations of clients, Integrated Planning team and deliverables
    • Grows business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
    • Have a thorough understanding of all elements of the brand
    • Drives savings for business through strong negotiations
    • Leads face to face client and vendor meetings
    • Participates and presents in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriate
    • Establishes strong internal relationships with other service line personnel


    Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

    • Works with management team (Supervisor/AMD/Media Director) to develop strategies for digital buys
    • Strategizes ways to most effectively use digital media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients
    • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
    • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
    • Provide guidance to team members to nurture/promote team environment
    • Assist in the training of junior team members
    • May be responsible for working with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff- manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budget
    • May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents
    • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them


    Communications Skills:

    • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
    • Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner
    • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially
    • Assists in the development of media presentations
    • Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive
    • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.



    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3-6 years of media planning/buying experience, including at least 3 years focused on digital
    • Experience creating and selling media programs
    • Ability to articulate strategic foundation for their development
    • Strong negotiator and advanced numeracy skills
    • Proven leadership skills and management experience
    • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)




    Experience needed to proceed to the next level:

    • Demonstrated leadership skills through staff development and ownership of department/agency initiatives
    • Presence in leading presentations and other forms of client or internal communications
    • Regarded internally at Carat as a “go to person”
    • Displays sound business judgment internally
    • Strong ability to properly delegate tasks to staff to ensure appropriate utilization
    • Strong ability to manage crisis or red-flag situations
    • Understanding of the financials of client/agency relationships
    • Motivation to participate in agency development and new business
    • Excellent client report card
    • Strong negotiation skills that result in measureable savings for clients
    • Excellent track record of maintaining multiple client engagements at once and presenting growth opportunities to supervisors
    • Regarded externally as managing a best in class group
    • Serves as a Carat ambassador and demonstrates grace in challenging internal/external scenarios
