The Director, Client Finance will be responsible for maintaining the client financial relationships of multiple clients and all related financial deliverables including pricing, reconciliations, fee invoicing, and profitability analysis. He/She will be responsible for ensuring all financial elements of the client relationship are communicated, tracked, monitored and managed. As part of the role the director is expected to utilize financial analysis techniques to provide insight, analysis and trends on critical business issues impacting the performance of a group of clients working closely with senior stakeholder within finance as well as the broader organization.


  • Manage efforts to prepare and produce all client financial deliverables
  • Manage preparation of client pricing and staffing plans and review of client contracts
  • Monitor client activity, prepare or lead preparation of fee, media and production reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Manage revenue recognition and month end close
  • Support efforts to manage client collections and ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
  • Manage the budget & reforecast process in relation to billing and revenue
  • Track revenues vs. budget and research variance drivers
  • Supports the business in their development of short, medium and long-term resource requirements
  • Manage intercompany revenue cross charges
  • Participate on team for new business pitches, driving appropriate commercial terms, pricing and profitability
  • Provide analytical support focused around obtaining he optimal balance of pricing, early payment discounts, rebates and volume commitments
  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
  • Provide proactive analytical support and other ad hoc financial analyses to the business leaders or clients


Client & Internal Relationships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with agency personnel related to financial processes and deliverables
  • Provide ongoing reporting and analysis to client teams related to staffing utilization and client profitability
  • Work with client teams to ensure revenue tracking systems are up to date
  • Work closely with the client teams to stay abreast of changes and modifications to client budgets

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 7-10 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience Budgeting / Forecasting
  • Pricing and negotiation experience within media/advertising
  • Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • Superior organization abilities, strong attention of detail, and advanced project management/customer service skills
  • This position is responsible for handling highly confidential information, requiring an ability to maintain and display high ethical standards including confidentiality, discretion, and exemplary judgment with respect to such information.
