The Director, Data & Tech Operations will oversee a team that collects data through custom scripting and tagging; identifies and solves complex ad- and data-related issues, communicates the function and scope of our technology platforms and services; works with third-party developers and technology vendors; and assists internal media teams in the execution of cross-divisional ad campaigns.  This individual must work well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment and is expected to be resourceful and demonstrate the initiative to participate in advanced projects.  The position is global in nature and will require you to work closely with international markets.


The Director, Data & Tech Operations position is responsible for working with the leadership team across the GM account including analytics (digital and cross media), integrated communication planners and investment teams to identify and/or develop solutions to support the client needs, provide strategic support and ensure consistency across the globe.


Principal Responsibilities:

Data & Tech Management:

  • Work closely with client, senior leadership and Global Markets to align on proper Tag Management process and protocol
  • Ensure all ad ops teams, across the globe, are aware of and executing according to established process including following naming conventions, turnaround times, QA procedures
  • Oversee the Tag Management team in DTW and properly guide international market teams on process and execution.
  • Vet technology platforms on value proposition and compatibility with our systems
  • Coordinate with the executive team on contractual obligations and aid in the (re)negotiation of terms and SLAs
  • Interface with clients on strategy and implementation guidelines
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking ability; keep multiple projects on-track
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, Tag Management Systems (eg. Signal), Third Party Ad Servers (DoubleClick DCM & Innovid) and rich technology (eg. FlashTalking, Spongecell)
  • Work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure that appropriate materials are received and/or distributed correctly
  • Coordinate and meet all deliverables accurately and in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Google and Signal to resolve reporting/data discrepancies
  • You have the ability to digest technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience
  • Embrace the merging of web and mobile advertising technology and have a skill set that goes beyond the traditional advertising operations profile

Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge, Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ year industry experience (global experience a plus)
  • Proficient in MS office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
  • Expert in Tag Management systems, third-party ad servers and rich media technology (DoubleClick DCM, VAST/V-Paid, Mobile/Tablet, Rich Media implementation, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of technology and computers (eg. HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python)
  • Ability to provide guidance for team that primarily works with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Python
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
